Walking Trails around our area

There are some magnificent walking trails around the Hills, none more popular than the Mount Lofty trail! It’s a routinely walked track with many locals…

If you are looking at factoring in a beautiful nature-filled walk during your stay, then there are a number of options to choose from.

The closest Walking SA sanctioned walking trail is the Keith Stirling Conservation Park, situated down Greenhill Road, around a 10-minute drive from our Retreats.

Another option for those who like a firmer bitumen surface to walk on is the Amy Gillet Bike track, which starts at Oakbank and now continues on to Mount Torrens. (You may even like to bring your bikes and go the entire distance- it’s a brilliant track undulating between the towns of Oakbank, Woodside, skirting around Lobethal into Charleston, and onto Mount Torrens. You certainly see some lovely countryside riding along this track. There’s even a few cellar doors that you pass along the way, that might be worth popping into!

Walking Trails around Cleland/ Mount Lofty are also very popular and offer wonderful structured walking trails.

Check out the links to these particular walking trails mentioned above…and if you wish to look at even further options, then jump on the Walking SA website for other brilliant options. The links below enable you to access maps of the walks too, so if you like, you can print them up even before you come up for your stay.
